Deborah Louise (Stinchcomb) Schmidt,
69, died August 31, 2022, at her home in Newton, Kansas.
She was born on December 20, 1952, in
Ulysses, Kansas, the daughter of Rhene and Mary Ann (Lauber)
Stinchcomb. She grew up in Englewood, Kansas, where she attended and
graduated from Ashland High with the class of 1970. She would then
take several classes at Dodge City Community College.
On December 6, 1991, Debbie was united
in marriage to David Schmidt in Newton, Kansas. The couple celebrated
their 30th wedding anniversary last year.
For 25 years Debbie enjoyed working as
a labtech at a clinic. When it was time for a career change she went
on to work for High Street Company and Kitchen Corner for 16 years.
Debbie enjoyed gardening and liked to
decorate for each season and occasion. She loved being a mother and
grandmother, always making sure that her family was taken care of and
that they knew how much she loved and cherished them.
Debbie is survived by her husband, Dave
Schmidt; sons, Jason Schmidt, Matthew Vanover, and Rusty Vanover and
wife, Ashley; sister, Pam Clark and husband, Mike; grandchildren,
Amelia, Archer, Aletta and Lily; and many other family members and
friends.
She was preceded in death by her
parents, Rhene and Mary Ann Stinchcomb and niece, Susan Clark.
Memorial contributions may be made in
Debbie?s name to Caring Hands Humane Society or Safe Hope and left
in care to Petersen Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. on
Tuesday, September 6, 2022, at Petersen Funeral Home, 215 N. Main
St., Newton, Kansas.
