They began dating and were married on April 18, 1959. Both worked many years for the Santa Fe Railroad, with Leo retiring in 1989.

Leo was preceded in death by his wife, Margie Lee Crist; his parents; and a sister, Marge Self.

He is survived by his daughter, Tina Schmidt and husband Larry; a grandson Brandon and wife Samantha; precious great-grandson, Victor; and sisters, Dorothy Markham and Twila Frank.

Some of Leo?s favorite things in life were hunting, fishing, and camping. He loved the great outdoors, and you could always find him working on a project.

In their retirement Marge and Leo traveled to every state at least twice.

He was a member of First Baptist Church for over 43 years. And volunteered at Crosswind Conference Center for many years.

There will be a graveside and home going service for him at Greenwood Cemetery at 10:00 a.m., on Thursday, September 1, 2022, with Chip Bungard officiating.
