Millie Cherryholmes, 90, of Newton,
Kansas, passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at Newton Medical
Center. She was born March 23, 1932 in Fairview, Missouri, the
daughter of Roy and Fern (Carr) Colwell.
She was united in marriage to Kenneth
H. Cherryholmes. Millie worked at Hesston Hay & Forage, working
in the HR department for insurance, where she was an employee
advocate. She retired in 2000 after 27 years. Millie was a 22 year
volunteer for the Et Cetera Shop in Newton. She graduated from
Wichita State University at the age of 77.
Millie was a member of the League of
Women Voters, Harvey County Democrats and the Red Hat Society. She
was a Unitarian Universalist and was passionate in her acceptance of
all people.
She is survived by her children, Kendra
(Jack ?Martin?) Hall, Bobbie (Kevin) Pawlowski, Leslie (Charlie)
Wright, Kay Cherryholmes, Ken Cherryholmes, and Holly Cherryholmes;
eleven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one greatgreat-
granddaughter, plus one great-great-grandson on the way; and many
special nieces and nephews.
Millie was preceded in death by her
parents; husband; two sisters and one brother.
A celebration of life service will be
held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, September 9, 2022 at Miller-Ott Funeral
Home, Hesston. Private burial will be held at Greenwood Cemetery,
Newton. Friends may call from 3 to 5 p.m., Thursday, September 8, at
Miller-Ott Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Heifer
