HALSTEAD?Robert Jeffery ?Jeff?
Roper, 80, died Thursday, Sept. 1, 2022 at Halstead Health &
Rehabilitation, Halstead, after falling ill during his annual trip
back for Old Settlers and Halstead High School Reunion (Class of
?59).
Jeff was raised in Halstead by his
grandparents Chris and Eula Roper. After high school, Jeff served in
the U.S. Army as an M.P. and lived in Salina, Kansas until 2002,
working primarily in the manufacturing industry.
On Nov. 1, 1998, he married Ramona
Rogers, and they moved to Mandan, North Dakota in 2002, where Jeff
found his calling in ministering with the Christian Motorcycle
Association (Cornerstone Cyclists ) and becoming the pastor of the
Mandan Christian Community Church.
Ramona preceded him in death Nov. 29,
2020 and son, Shawn Hynes preceded him June 1, 2019.
Jeff is survived by his daughter, Katie
(Jason) Schneider, son-in-law Marty Harper, daughter-in-law, Anita
(David) Johnson and their daughter Jessami Jacobson. Lifelong friends
Bob and Cheryl McCart and many high school classmates who visited him
faithfully during his final days.
Cremation has taken place.
A memorial service will be held at
Mandan, North Dakota at a date yet to be determined.
Inurnment will be in North Dakota
Veterans Cemetery, Mandan.
Memorials may be given to Cornerstone
Cyclists in care of Kaufman Funeral Home, Halstead.
