Newton- Marion Regier, 95, died
Thursday (September 15, 2022) at the NMC Health in Newton.
She was born on April 12, 1927 in
Richmond, Kansas, the daughter of Alfred and Emma Roeckers Wiesner.
Marion was raised in Richmond and graduated from Ursuline Academy in
Paola, Kansas
In 1945, she moved to the Kansas City
area where she was a bookkeeper and secretary. Marion moved to
Wichita in 1949, where she lived until moving to Newton in 1972. She
owned and operated the Econo Wash in Newton until 1981.
She married James Eldon Regier, Sr., on
May 2, 1981 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Newton. Also
in 1981, she went to work as a
bookkeeper for Farm House (which would
later become Mirror, Inc.) She retired in 1994.
Marion was a longtime member of Our
Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Newton where she was a member of
the Altar Society, served in the
Adoration Chapel for 30 years. She was
also active with Harvest House and started the Blanket Ministry of
the church in 2000.
Survivors include her step-children
Michelle Duerksen and husband Rodean, John Regier and wife Diane,
Melissa Lawrence and husband Dane all
of Newton; her brother John C. Wiesner
of Garnett, Ks.; sisters Velma O?Brien of Bakersfield, Calif., Rose
Haynes and Fred of Lane, Ks., Frances DeJarnett and Elroy of Bedford,
Tex.; 11 stepgrandchildren: and four step-great grandchildren.
Marion is preceded in death by her
parents; husband James on March 16, 2007; step-son James Regier, Jr.;
brother Alfred J. Wiesner; and sisters Emerentia Wiesner, Florence
Lyons and Thelma Cummings.
The casket will be open at the funeral
home on Wednesday (Sept. 21st) between 12:00 Noon and 4:00 P.M.
The Recitation of the Holy Rosary will
be at 7:00 P.M., Wednesday (Sept. 21st) at Our Lady of Guadalupe
Catholic Church, where the family will receive friends between 5:30
and 7.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be
held at 10:00 A.M., Thursday (Sept. 22nd) also at the church.
Interment will be in Restlawn Gardens of Memory outside of Newton.

Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Contributions may be sent to
