Newton- Carole Malin, 76, passed away
peacefully at her home in Newton, KS on September 20, 2022. She grew
up in Wichita, KS and came
to Newton right after her marriage to
Ralph John Malin on June 18, 1965. They met while students at
Southwestern College in Winfield, Kansas.
She graduated from Wichita State
University with a degree in Business Administration, with an emphasis
in accounting in 1967. She was employed at
the Beren Corp., and at Energy
Exploration as a Staff Accountant. She was also Business Manager at
the Kansas Christian Home, Newton.
She was a longtime member of Trinity
Heights United Methodist, where she was in the Church Choir, chaired
the Church Music Committee, and was Bell Choir Director. She was in
numerous musicals at the Newton Summer Theater including Oklahoma,
South Pacific and The Music Man. Vocal and instrumental music were
among Carole?s lifelong passions.
In 1990, Carole received a kidney
transplant and her loving husband Ralph was her donor
She was preceded in death by her
parents, Alan and Helen Lee, her husband Ralph Mason Malin in May
2022, and her son Bryan James Malin, in April 2014.
She is survived by her son Brenton John
Malin, his wife Jessie Beckett-McWalter, and their sons Mason and
Graham (PA). She is also survived by her daughter-in-law and
caregiver June Malin (KS); her brother Jim Lee, his wife Becky Lee
(CT), their daughter Jennifer Sohn Lee and husband Peter
Grzesik (WA), and their daughter
Kathryn Elizabeth Genest and husband Erik Genest (CT).
Memorial services were held at 11:00
A.M., Tuesday (Sept. 27th) at the Trinity Heights United Methodist
Church in Newton. Inurnment will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Newton.
A memorial has been established with
the American Kidney Foundation and the Wounded Warrior Project.
