Marilyn Faye Krehbiel

PRETTY PRAIRIE?Marilyn Faye (Siemens) Krehbiel, 85, passed away Sept. 23, 2022, with her family by her side. She was born Nov. 27, 1936, in Hutchinson, the oldest child of the late Alvin and Marie (Friesen) Siemens.

Marilyn graduated from Buhler High School and Bethel Deaconess Hospital with her registered nursing degree. She worked as a registered nurse at Grace Hospital and Prairie Sunset Home. In addition, Marilyn volunteered at Hospice House and the Et Cetera Shop, Hutchinson. She loved to cook, sew, garden, and read. Marilyn treasured her faith, family and friendships. She was a devoted farmer?s wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend.

As a child, Marilyn was baptized at the Hebron Mennonite Church, Buhler. She was a member of First Mennonite Church, Pretty Prairie, and attended Journey@South Hutch.

On Sept. 14, 1958, she married Alvin Dean Krehbiel. They shared 47 years of marriage before his death on Nov. 6, 2005.

Marilyn is survived by: her children, Loren (Cindy) Krehbiel of Pretty Prairie, Dianne (Keith) Wiebe of Peabody, Royce (Cindy) Krehbiel of Pretty Prairie, and Tim (Yvonne) Krehbiel of Bern; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Vernabelle Stayrook (Kerm Gingerich) and Betsy (Larry) Buller; Alvin?s siblings, Janet Epp, Joan (Gary) Jost, MaryAnn (Hugo) Boschmann, Karen (Lynn) Kaufman; and brother-in-law, Clemon Kaufman.

Marilyn was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Alvin; daughter-in-law, Bella Krehbiel; sister-in-law, Jane Kaufman; and brother-in-law, Waldeen Epp.

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2022, at Journey@South Hutch, 808 S. Poplar, South Hutchinson. Burial will follow at 2:30 p.m. at First Mennonite Church Cemetery, Pretty Prairie. Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m. Monday, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.

Memorials are suggested to Inner City Impact, Chicago, Illinois (a ministry to help inner-city children), or Mennonite Central Committee (MCC), in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
