James E. Huddleston, 86, died on
October 2, 2022, in Sedgwick, Kansas, surrounded by his loving
family.
He was born on August 3, 1936, the son
of Jess and Della (Pittman) Huddleston.
On January 6, 1957, James married
Sylvia Karen Ann Wilson. They later divorced and James remarried.
James joined the United States Marine
Corp on September 2, 1954 in Kansas City, Missouri. He would quickly
climb the ranks and become Corporal. During his service he was
stationed overseas in Okinawa and Iwo Jima Japan, during the Korean
War.
James enjoyed fishing, camping and
horseback riding. He coached his daughters in softball.
James was an independent paint
contractor. Later he worked for Boeing. He retired from Boeing at 59
years of age. He went to work at the Best Western Airport Hotel and
retired a second time, after 18 years.
James is survived by his daughters,
Connie Stout and Cindy Martindale. He had 7 grandchildren, 15 great
grandchildren and 1 great greatgrandchild.
He was preceded in death by both of his
wives, his brother, Harold and his parents.
Following James? wishes, cremation
will take place. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m.,
Saturday, October 15, 2022, at Hicks-Davison American Legion Post 268
in Sedgwick, Kansas. His ashes will be strewn out over the Walnut
River at his favorite place.
