Karen Ann McCoskey, 81, Sedgwick, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, December 24, 2022.
She was born to Lester and Viola Snyder on March 28, 1941 in Pratt, Kansas. She was united in marriage to John Charles McCoskey on April 16, 1964. They were married 48 years. Karen was known well for her positive attitude and love of gardening and for putting together quilts and puzzles. Her community also enjoyed her homemade popcorn balls every Halloween, a tradition she kept up for decades.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John, and her parents. Survivors include her sons Terry (Rebecca) McCoskey, North Newton and Gilbert McCoskey of McPherson; daughters Kelly (Greg) Huxman of Hesston and Donita (Norman) Retz of Sedgwick; her sister, Rosie Durner of Burrton; 7 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 1 nephew.
Visitation 6-7 pm Thursday, Dec 29 at Baker Funeral Home, Valley Center. A private graveside service will be held on Friday, December 30 at 10:30 a.m. at Hillside Cemetery in Sedgwick. Condolences may be left for the family at www.bakerfhvc.com.
