Elsie Marie Johnson Elsie was the daughter of Karl Struebing and Sophie Gradert Struebing. She married William Henry Johnson on September 9, 1926 in Newton. She was raised in Newton and attended Newton schools. She moved to Augusta, then to Arkansas City in 1945. She was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church, charter member of the L.W.M.L., Hypatia Club. She did volunteer work and was a member of the hospital auxiliary for 20 years.
