Joel was a member of Hillcrest Community Foursquare Church in Newton. He helped run the Harvey County Farmer?s Market and was a member of the Food and Farm Council and Harvey County Extension Board.
Joel never met a stranger. He was a quiet, gentle man with a heart of gold. He loved his family more than anything. He had a heart and passion for prayer. He prayed fervently for others and very rarely asked for prayers for himself. He struggled for over 20 years with serious medical conditions but hardly complained. He helped others as well as he could and as often as he could. He was the listening ear for so many who needed it. Joel was a great husband, dad, uncle, son and friend.
