Amos Jacob ?Jake? Lewman Jr., 79,
passed away on Saturday, Dec. 17, 2022, at his home in Sedgwick,
Kansas. He was born in El Dorado, Kansas, to Amos Sr. and Genevia
(Hoober) Lewman in 1943. He spent his childhood years in El Dorado
and Wichita, Kansas. He graduated from East High School and the
Vocational Technical program for Machinists of Wichita, Kansas. Upon
graduation, he began working at Safaric Tool and Die, where he later
became president of the company.
In 1963, he married Beverly Ann
Stanley. Within this marriage, three children were born. The
firstborn was Paul Allen Lewman, who died in infancy, followed by Jon
Eric Lewman, born in 1967, and Mark Charles Lewman, born in 1969.
Upon their divorce in 1986, Jake Lewman then moved to St. Louis,
Missouri. He lived there for 27 years until he retired from
BeltService. He then moved to Sedgwick, Kansas, to be closer to his
family. He enjoyed gardening and tending to his vast iris flower
garden, socializing with friends, partaking in garage sales, and
having an extensive collection of eclectic items.
He was proceeded in death by his
parents; brother, Lawrence C. ?Larry? Lewman; former wife,
Beverly; and son, Paul.
He is survived by his sons, Jon
(Brandi), of Marion, Kan.; Mark (Leann), of Sedgwick, Kan.; and his
five grandchildren, Cole (Caroline), Zachary (fianc? Kyleigh
Schwein), Jessi, Kiana, and Levi Lewman.
A graveside service will be held and
announced at a later date. Memorials may be designated in his memory
to Shriners Hospital for Children, and Public Broadcasting Service.
