Koehn, Nadine Rose Holdeman

from FG

Nadine Rose Holdeman Koehn

Nadine Rose Holdeman Koehn was born on July 27, 1962, to Dorvin and Donna Schneider Holdeman in Louisville, Georgia. She passed away on January 10, 2023, a the Wesley Hospital, Wichita, Kansas, reaching sixty years of age.

Mom's childhood years were spent in Georgia where she enjoyed a happy childhood with her three siblings. She received her education at the Pinecrest Mennonite School. In her early teens, she gave her heart to the Lord and was baptized into the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite, on March 14, 1976, by Minister Maynard Peters. This faith was precious to her, and she remained faithful to her vows.

On November 30, 1986, she was joined in marriage to David H. Koehn in Louisville, Georgia. To this union were born four daughters and one son. Their first few years were lived in Halsead, Kansas, and then they moved to Georgia where they raised their family.

In 2005, she lost a daughter, which brought her much grief. Mom lovingly cared for her through the years of her extended illness, spending countless hours attending to her needs.

Mom loved gardening and canning, and we have good memories of working together. She was talented with her hands and always had a quilt in the frame and cross-stitch projects in her lap. Mom had a friendly disposition and made friends easily wherever she went.

We moved back to Kansas in 2012, and made our home in the Halstead and Moundridge communities where Mom became a part of the Sedgwick congregation. Mom found employment at Pine Village Retirement Center for several years. Mom's patience and acceptance of the challenges of life were an inspiration to many. We will miss her, but we are thankful for the example she left us.

Her survivors include a son, Randall and Tanya Koehn, Louisville, Georgia; daughters: Roseanna Litchfield, Halstead, Kansas; Rebecca Koehn, North Newton, Kansas; Rachel Koehn, Wichita, Kansas; brother John and Cynthia Holdeman; three granddaughters.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, two granddaughters, parents, a brother, and a sister.

Funeral services were held on January 16, 2023, at the Church of God in Christ Mennonite, Halstead, Kansas. Ministers Conrad Seiler, Quentin Koehn, and Larry Koehn officiated. Interment was in the Garden View Church Cemetery, Halstead, Kansas.
