Hazel Arlene Spielman
Hazel Arlene Spielman, 77, passed away on July 4, 2024, in Wichita, Kansas.
She was born on September 15, 1946, in Fort Scott, one of 13 children born to Homer and Bessie (Cady) West.
Hazel was united in marriage to Glen Spielman in December 1964 in Newton.
Hazel was known as ?the crosswalk lady? watching over children crossing to go to school for 35+ years. She was a true Angel on earth to all that had the pleasure to meet her.
She loved Jesus and our Father in Heaven. She helped others without a second thought. She had all the fruits of the spirit and loved serving others. Truly a loving person that will be missed by family and the community. We
know now that she sits at the table with God knowing the strong godly women she was.
Hazel is survived by her husband, Glen Spielman; children, Glen (Delene) Spielman Jr., Neil (Loretta) Spielman and John (Marcia) Spielman; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one
great-great-grandchild; sister, Cheryl West; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Bessie West; son, Kurt Spielman; daughter, Glenna Spielman; and 12 siblings.
A public viewing for Hazel will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, July 8. A private viewing will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 9, at Petersen Funeral Home in Newton.
The funeral service and graveside will be private.
