Phyllis Ann Mitchell (nee Fraley), 77, formerly of Burns, KS, passed away on May 5, 2024 in Newton, Kansas. She was born in Wichita, Kansas. Phyllis will be remembered for her love and dedication to her Lord and Savior, her friends and her family.

Phyllis is survived by her children: Shan Mitchell of Wichita, Kansas; Shawn Mitchell of Jarrell, Texas; Heather Keene (Kaylon) of Breese, Illinois; David Mitchell (Mandy) of Newton, Kansas. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Phyllis started attending the First Mennonite Church of Burns, now known as Burns Countryside Church, in the spring of 1982, where she became a member and attended until she had to move to Newton, Kansas and was no longer able to attend weekly. While living in Burns, Phyllis was involved in many activities such as the 4-H Club, Girl Scouts, Mary Martha Society, VBS, working at the local library and cleaning the church for many years.

Phyllis enjoyed teaching Sunday School, going to an occasional Christian concert, reading, cross-stitching, sewing, and visiting family. Phyllis loved Back Alley pizza and was always ready to eat some Braum's ice cream. The last couple of years she kept the staff at Paramount Community Living and Rehab on their toes with her sense of humor and silly antics, but the laughs she caused and her smile will be missed dearly.
