HALSTEAD?Virginia Mae Miller, 94, died Sunday, July 28, 2024, at Halstead Health and Rehabilitation, Halstead.
She was born November 23, 1929, at rural Halstead to Jacob G. and Esther F. (Schwarz) Krauss.
She was a 1947 graduate of Bentley High School and attended Salt City Business college in Hutchinson, KS
She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church Wichita.
On August 27, 1950, she married Harold E. Miller at Patterson, Kansas. He preceded her in death January 7, 1977.
Virginia and Harold owned and operated WhopperBurger Drive-in in Topeka for several years. She also worked for Santa Fe Railway and AGCO of Hesston.
She is survived by her daughter Sharon (Lyn) Rowe, Sedgwick; sons: Robert (Jan) Miller, Yukon, Okla., and Ronald (Cheryl) Miller, Olathe; brother Karl (Dorothy) Krauss, Halstead:
seven grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded by brothers William and Kenneth Krauss; and sisters Maxine Shirk, Doris Kolb, Faye Rennolet and Carolyn Krauss.
A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, August 8, 2024, at Bethel Baptist Church Wichita with Pastor Jon Swope officiating.
Inurnment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Topeka.
Memorials may be given to Bethel Baptist Church in care of Kaufman Funeral Home, Halstead.
