Pauline Casey, 78, died on Thursday (September 12, 2024) at her residence in Newton, Kansas.
She was born on May 2, 1946, in Kingswood, Bristol, England, to Daisy (Smith) and Glenn Bright, a U.S. soldier stationed in Europe during WWII.
Pauline was a graduate of Newton High School and earned a bachelor?s degree in human resource management from Friends University in 1999. She worked at many differing positions in
her lifetime from Graves Drug Store on Newton?s Main Street during high school, Farm Bureau Insurance, the Harvey County Extension Service, Bunting Magnetics, Koch Industries, Kansas Workers Compensation Courts, and
finally retiring from her position with the Human Resources Department at U.S.D. 259 in Wichita. She often held ?second? jobs (Taco Fats, the Pancake Hut, and her favorite?Sharon?s Rolling Kitchen)
to help make the funds for special vacation trips to England, Hawaii, a couple cruises and several trips to the U.S. Women?s National Bowling Tournaments.
During her lifetime, Pauline was active with the St. Mary?s Catholic Church Alter Society. She had been active for many years with the Kansas and local chapter of the Business and
Professional Women?s (BPW) Foundation. She also participated as a leader with the Girl Scouts of America and 4-H, supporting her children through the years. She loved bowling, long walks and was a big dog lover.
Pauline is survived by her brother, Charley Bright in Porter, Oklahoma; her husband of 61 years, Charles ?Donnie? Casey in Newton, Kansas; and sister-in law Lynda Bright of Newton,
Kansas. Her children: daughter, Christine and her husband, Henry Sander of Stockton, Kansas; son, Charles ?Chuck? Casey of Kansas City, Missouri; daughter, Candi Koirth and Bob Kenworthy of Pratt, Kansas. Seven
grandchildren and their spouses: Crystal (Sander) Dunlap and Jesse Dunlap of Stockton, Kansas; Brett and Traci Sander of Stockton, Kansas; Ashley (Koirth) Little and Colin Little of Pratt, Kansas; Sydney (Koirth) Parsons and
Thomas Parsons of Pratt, Kansas; Holden and Adriana Kenworthy of Derby, Kansas; Layton and Katherine Kenworthy of Derby, Kansas; Dalton Kenworthy of Coats, Kansas. Seven great-grandchildren: Jaxon Dunlap, Weston Little, Brogan
Little, Gavin Parsons, Ella Parsons, Jason Kenworthy and Graham Kenworthy; with twin Sander boys due soon!
Pauline was proceeded in death by her parents and brother, Glenn L. Bright of Newton, Kansas and sister in-law LaVonia Bright of Porter, Oklahoma.
Funeral services will be Saturday, September 28, 2024, 10:00 am at St. Mary?s Catholic Church, 106 E. 8th Street, Newton, Kansas, 67114.
Visitation will be held Friday, September 27th; 5 ? 7 pm at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home, 120 E. Broadway, Newton, Kansas, 67114. Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm at Broadway Colonial.
Memorials can be made to the St. Mary?s Catholic Church Alter Society of Newton, Good Shepherd Hospice or the Caring Hands Humane Society.
