L. DUANE "SONNY" LABBE

L. Duane "Sonny" Labbe, 93, of Wichita, Kansas, passed away Monday, September 30, 2024 at the Ascension via Christi Village McLean in Wichita. He was born on September 11, 1931 in Onaga, Kansas, to John and Marie (Bembe) Labbe. He graduated from Centralia High School. Sonny was inducted into the United States Marine Corps in 1952, serving until 1954. He attained the rank of Corporal. He was united in marriage to Jennie L. Krehbiel on May 31, 1958 in Wichita, Kansas. She preceded him in death on June 14, 1999, after 41 years of marriage. He worked at Boeing Company in Wichita as a hand form for 40 years. Sonny loved to attend his coffee club at McDonald's. Sonny is survived by his nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; great-great nieces and nephews; and great-great-great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Marie Labbe; wife, Jennie Labbe; six sisters; and two brothers. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, October 5, 2024 at Eden Mennonite Church, rural Moundridge. Burial will follow at the Mound Township Cemetery with military honors. Family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, October 4 at the Moundridge Funeral Home.
