NEWTON?Gloria Jean Schroeder, 72, died, Thursday, September 12, 2024, at NMC Healthcare, Newton.
She was born January 15, 1952, at Beloit, WI, and was adopted by George William and Malvina (Johnson) Herzfeld.
She was a former Halstead resident and was a cashier at Walmart and Dillions.
She was a member of Salem United Methodist Church Newton.
She is survived by her son, Frank McCaine, Newton, and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her companion Eugene Grosch and a brother, Daniel McCaine.
Cremation has taken place and there are no services planned.
Memorials may be given to Ronald McDonald House or Caring Hands Humane society in care of Kaufman Funeral Home, Halstead.
