Arnold K Peters Arnold K. Peters, 82, died Dec. 18, 2003 at Newton. He was born Jan. 29, 1921 at Greensburg, the son of Abe E. and Agnes Kornelsen Peters. He attended No. 11 school and Zoar Bible Academy and was a 1940 graduate of Greensburg H.S. He was a mechanic for Chevrolet garage and also worked at his uncle's Case dealership in Salina. A longtime resident of Greensburg, he worked as an electrician and plumber and helped wire and plumb churches, schools and homes. He attended Koerner Heights Mennonite Brethern Church, Newton, Greensburg Mennonite Church and Greensburg Baptist Church where he served as Deacon, Sunday School teacher and Superintendent. A Veteran of WW II he enlisted in the U.S. Air Corp., serving in California, Texas, Florida, Louisiana, and his last six months of service were in London, England where he helped classify and translate captured German documents. He married Elnora Althof on May 21, 1946 in Roscoe, TX. She survives. Other survivors: three daughters, Joyce Elaine Martens, Newton, Peggy Jean Fenton, Topeka and Arnetta Kay Barker, Strausberg, CO; sisters, Helen Classen, Meade, and Mildred Bauman, Grants Pass, OR; brother, Bennie, Inman; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Preceded by daughter, Dorothy Ann Ford; sister Reubena Milne; and a grandson. Service at Greensburg Menn. Church; burial in Fairview Cemetery, Greensburg.
