Kenneth Eugene Wheeler, age 54, of Burrton, Kansas gained his angel wings and sat at the foot of Jesus, our Lord and Savior, on September 30th, 2024.
Ken married the love if his life, Patricia Ann Wheeler (Boyer) on June 9, 2011. They both loved and lived in Burrton, along with their spoiled pets. Ken was a very generous and humble man that
had a great passion for helping others.
Ken was a decorated veteran, serving as a Specialist Four in field artillery in the United States Army from 1990-1994. He worked as a correctional officer at Hutchison Correctional Facility
for 12 years, a local realtor for 6 years while earning a bachelors degree at Hutchinson Community College. He was employed by AGCO for 20 years, until his diagnosis with ALS in 2022.
Ken is survived by many family and friends who will honor his life by continuing his enthusiastic example of love and generosity.
A visitation will be held from 5-9pm on Friday, October 4, 2024 at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel, Newton, Ks. Family will receive friends at Petersen Funeral Home from 5-7pm.
Funeral services will be at First Christian Church in Burrton, Ks. at 10am, Saturday, October 5, 2025, with burial following at Burrton Cemetery.
Memorials may be made out to The ALS Association and left in the care of Petersen Funeral Home.
