Shirley Von (Smith) Vogt, 90, of Hesston, Kansas, passed away Friday, September 20, 2024 at the Schowalter Villa. She was born on November 6, 1933 in Newton, Kansas, to Howard and Frances
(Allen) Smith. Shirley was a member of the Garden Community Church in rural Moundridge, where she served as Sunday School teacher, worked on the food committee and welcome committee, and served in the Christian Women's
Club for 18 years. She met Arnold Vogt while he was cruising down Main Street in Hesston. They married on May 1, 1955 in Halstead and welcomed three daughters. Shirley was a devoted homemaker and helped Arnold farm for many
years. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, canning, baking and many other hobbies. She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Arnold Vogt of Hesston; daughters, Sheree (Elgin) Glanzer of Topeka, Cindy (Art) Huxman of Hesston,
and Deb (Mark) Gilmore of Manhattan; grandchildren, Nick (Roxanne) Glanzer, Heidi (Dan) Carlson, Mollie (Mark) Kunkee, Katie (Kyle) Hanzlicek, Julie (Jake) Willems, Shannon (Stephen) Orpin, Josh (Syl) Gilmore, and Andy (Shannon)
Gilmore; 24 great-grandchildren; and sister, Margaret Herron. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Pat Hibbs. Family will greet friends from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m., Saturday, September 28, 2024 at the Garden
Community Church, with a celebration of life service to follow at 11:00 a.m. Private inurnment will take place at the church cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Garden Community Church Missions Fund in care of
