BURRTON?Jacka Lee Penner, 93, died on Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2024, at her residence.
She was born Nov. 19, 1930, in Oilton, Oklahoma, to John W. and Nina O. (McMahon) Stephenson.
She was a very active member of Burrton Christian Church, serving as a Sunday School and VBS teacher and deacon, serving and cooking in the kitchen as well as anything else that was needed.
She was a volunteer EMT for the Burrton Ambulance Department. She retired as a bus driver for USD-369 Burrton. She loved to babysit and spoil her grandchildren. She was famous for her chicken
and noodles. She was an avid gardener and quilter, and she loved to be on her mower.
On Aug. 20, 1950, she married Keith Allen Penner at Burrton, and together they operated Penner Auto Service. He preceded her in death on Dec. 11, 2012.
She is survived by her sons, Rickie Penner, Peck, and Rocky (Sue) Penner, Burrton; daughters, Becky (Wade) Thornton, Gowen, Mich., Ginger (Randy) Caffrey, Mount Hope, and Lori (Dwayne) McCaskill,
Burrton; brother, Paul Stephenson, Coronado, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Chadrick Penner; great-grandson, Kowen Reed; and a brother, Gaylen Stephenson.
Visitation was from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 10, at Kaufman Funeral Home, Halstead.
Graveside services were at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 11, at Burrton Cemetery, Burrton.
