Rites Set Friday For Ex-Teacher, Mabel Vandervort
NEWTON KAN --Services for Mrs. Mabel C. Vandervort, 64, who died Tuesday in Axtell Christian Hospital here, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Petersen Funeral Home. Graveside services will be
in Prairie Mound Cemetery, Solomon, Kan.
She was born at Conway, Kan, and came here 35 years ago fromWindom, Kan. She was a school teacher at McPherson, Kan. and a member of Newton First Christian Church, Daughters of Union Veterans,
Royal Neighbors and the Newton Senior Citizens Club.
Survivors include a son, Frank, Wichita; two daughters, Mrs. John Hickox, Fort Meyers, Fla., and Mrs. Neil Miller, Wichita; Her mother, Mrs. Nellie Brigden, McPherson; a brother, Glen Elatner,
[Platner], Lindsborg, Kan., and two sisters, Mrs. Jessie Byers, Little River, Kan. and Mrs. Eula Rodybush, Louisville, Kan.
