On November 2, 1947, Fern married Paul H. Koehn in Newton. They were married 71 years, until Paul?s death in 2019. She was a homemaker and assisted Paul with their vacuum cleaner business.
Fern was a long-time member of the First Mennonite Church of Newton. She was a wonderful example, to children and grandchildren, of what it means to live your faith.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and making her yard and home look beautiful. Fern was an excellent cook and was always prepared to welcome and serve an excellent meal to family
