Trude Friesen (Regier), 76, of Elkhart, Ind., died Sept. 15, 1993, after an extended illness. She was born July 15, 1917, at Petershagen, Germany. She lived in that area until 1945.
After the war she spent three years in refuge camps in Denmark.She resettled for a year and a half near Zweibruecken in southwest Germany while she waited for a U.S. visa. In 1950 she immigrated
with her children to the United States to Brainerd, Kan.
She worked in the Whitewater-Potwin area until 1959, when she joined the staff at Bethel College, North Newton, and later at Prairie View Hospital, Newton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Helmut. She is survived by two sons, Joachim ?Joe? of Towanda and W. Otto of Charlottesville, VA.; two daughters, Louise Claassen of
Elkhart and Hildagard Kallweit of Fort Collins, Colo., eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services were held Sept. 18 at Hively Avenue Mennonite Church, Elkhart, Ind., where she was a member for the past 12 years. Burial was at the Pririe Street Cemetery, Elkhart. Erland Waltner
and Doug Reichenbach officiated.
