Ruth E. Janzen
Ruth E. Janzen, 62, of rural Newton died Wednesday (April 3, 1996) at her home.
She was born March 4, 1934, in Newton to Albert Claassen and Florence Shumi Claassen. She married Herman Janzen on July 27, 1955, at the Emmaus Church in Whitewater. He survives.
She was a homemaker and member of the Zion Mennonite Church in Elbing.
Other survivors include two sons, Bruce of Elbing and Russell of Newton; two daughters, Susan Janzen of North Newton and Lisa Scott of Newton; three brothers, Louis Claassen of Wichita, John Claassen of Whitewater and Virgil Claassen of Elkhart, Ind.; four sisters, Elizabeth Goering of North Newton, Elva Unruh of Newton, Mildred Voran of Pretty Prairie and Dora Golden of Peoria, Ariz.; and six grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 9:45 a.m. Saturday at the Zion Church Cemetery in Elbing. A memorial service will 11 a.m. Saturday at the Zion Mennonite Church in Elbing.
Friends may cal from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at the Lamb-Nutter Mortuary in Whitewater.
Memorials may be sent to Central Home Care and Hospice and Zion Church Building Fund, both in care of the mortuary.
