LeRoy W. Woelk, 93, of Goessel, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at the Bethesda Home. He was born on November 20, 1931 in Goessel to John and Anna (Franz) Woelk.
He graduated from Goessel High School with the class of 1950.
LeRoy was a member of the Goessel Church.
He worked in retail sales throughout the years for Irv Schroeder Motors in Hillsboro and Kropf Lumber in Hesston. LeRoy also worked at Hesston Manufacturing on assembly line and Bethesda
Home in Goessel as Maintenance Supervisor. During his high school years, LeRoy spent his weekends employed by P.H. Voth Grocery, and he and Marcella ran the grocery store for approximately a year after they were married.
LeRoy was united in marriage to Marcella Schmidt on April 4, 1952 at the Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church, Goessel.
He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Marcella Woelk of Goessel; children, Bryce L. (Kathy) Woelk of Goessel, Debra L. (Harris) Ewert of Hillsboro, and Kelvin L. (Jennifer) Woelk of Fort
Collins, CO; two grandchildren, Amanda ?A.J.? Wood (Stephen Pettigrew) of Valley Center, and Michael (Krysta) Woelk of Goessel; and brother, Charles (Mary Ann) Woelk of Goessel.
LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Viola Nachtigal.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at the Goessel Mennonite Church Cemetery, with a memorial service to follow at 11 a.m. at the Goessel Church. Family
