Terry Lee Moore

Terry Lee Moore, 75, passed away at his home on May 14, 2024. Terry was born November 25, 1948, to Thomas and Frances Moore, in Topeka. After graduating from Topeka West High School, Terry earned his Bachelor of Social Work and Master of Public Administration from the University of Kansas. Most of his career was spent working in child welfare, with much of it at United Methodist Youthville in Newton. Terry is survived by: his wife, Lorna of Hutchinson; daughters, Lori (Andrew) Becker, Julie (Bill) Montandon, and Janelle Anderson, all of Hutchinson, and Jennifer Stuart of Andover; grandchildren, Layton and Laynee Becker, Mariah (Scott) Johnson, Tyler, Jaiden, Emily, Micah and Mattie Montandon, Noa and Kaylee Parker, and Tyna (Jack) Reifschneider and Emma Stuart; great-grandchildren, Samuel Johnson and Elsie and Bennett Reifschneider; sisters, Carol Taylor and Cindy Frost of Topeka; nieces, Miriah and Autumn Frost and Shelby Shields; and grandnieces, Zoey Payne, Addison Boos, and Emrie Boos. Terry's Celebration of Life service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 24, 2024, at the Wesley Towers Evans Chapel, 3709 Asbury Drive, Hutchinson. Friends may sign his book from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary. Everyone is invited to stay and join the family following Terry's service for a light lunch and to continue sharing memories of Terry. In honor of Terry's love for sports, the family encourages everyone to wear their favorite team attire or colors. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to The ALS Association or Interfaith Housing and Community Services, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
