Richard E. Zimmerman, 83, died, on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at Homestead of Augusta. He was born April 4, 1941, at Halstead, KS to Richard H. and Clella E. (Blubaugh) Zimmerman. He was
a 1959 graduate of Harper Rural High School. He was a graduate of Ottawa University and Kansas University.? He also was a graduate of Central Baptist Theological Seminary. He was a minister in the Baptist and Methodist
Church, serving congregations in El Dorado, Cawker City, Downs, Burdette, Rozel, Kinsley, Phillipsburg, Logan, Long Island, Bird City, Moscow, and Newton during his career. He was also a member of Patmos Lodge #97 AF &
AM, El Dorado; Chapter Council & Commandery, Hutchinson; York Rite Bodies Isis Shrine, Salina and Holy Cross Chapter, Order of St. Luke. On June 3, 1962, he married Carolyn Marie Fields, at Scott City, KS. She preceded
him in death on July 8, 2024. He was preceded in death by a sister: Anita Kay Zimmerman. Survivors include sons: Galen (Kim) Zimmerman, Killeen, TX; Stephen Zimmerman, Topeka, KS; daughter: Susan (Jon) McCoy, Towanda, KS;
sisters: Paula Trimble, Everett, WA; Terri Zimmerman, Fountain Hills, AZ; nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Friends may call from 2:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at Kaufman Funeral Home, Halstead.
The family will be present from 6:30-8:00 p.m. to greet friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 26, 2025, also at Kaufman Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Halstead Cemetery. Memorials
may be given to the A.L.S. Association or the The Parkinson's Foundation in care of Kaufman Funeral Home.
