Virgene L. Gaede 84 died February 17, 2025, at Kidron Bethel Healthcare in North Newton, Kansas. He was born on October 25, 1940, in Lehigh, Kansas to Henry and Mary Lu (Gibson) Gaede. On
July 29, 1960, he married Celesta Bucher in Newton, and she preceded him in death on August 26, 2015.
Virgene was a longtime active member of the First United Methodist Church in Newton. He was a retired salesman for Pluswood Kansas.
Virgene is survived by his son Robert Gaede; daughter Becky Gaede; brother Raygene Gaede and sister Rosa Gaede. He is also survived by two grandchildren and one great child and his loving
friend Lorraine Morgan.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers Eugne Gaede and Lu Gaede; 4 sister Darelene Peterson; Marlene Anduss; Charlene ?Pickle? Sullivan and Jolene West
Visitation will be 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, February 23, 2025 at Petersen Funeral Home. A memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at First United Methodist Church
in Newton with Pastor Kim Andrews presiding. Private family interment will be held.
Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church or Caring Hands Humane Society and left with Petersen Funeral Home.
