Marilyn Ann Bailey passed away March 28, 2025.
Marilyn was born on Dec. 9, 1932, in Athol, Massachusetts, to Merle William and Muriel Jillson Hunter and was a graduate of Athol High School. As a young adult, she worked at the Union Twist
Drill. She met Robert (Bob) Bailey, and they married in 1954. They spent several years in North Adams before moving to Valley Center in 1973.
Marilyn was an experienced seamstress and made dresses for her daughters and granddaughters and quilted with her mom.
After losing her husband in 2003, Marilyn lived independently for a while before moving in with her daughter, Donna, in Newton.
She is survived by her daughters, Diane Dillinger (Bob) and Donna Richardson (Craig); son, Kenneth Bailey (Julie); six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother, Neil Hunter.
Memorial donations may be made to the Valley Center First United Methodist Church or Caring Hands Humane Society in Newton.
