Gary O Wright

Gary O. Wright, 89, retired quality assurance supervisor for Cessna/Eaton, died Monday, May 26, 2025, at Halstead Health & Rehab in Halstead.

He was born on Oct. 15, 1936, in Halstead to Harlan C. and Valera (Owens) Wright.

He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in Korea and Vietnam.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Halstead, Ruth Wilson American Legion Post 231. He was a member of the Halstead Gun Club and the Cessna/Eaton Gun Club, Hutchinson, Kansas. He served as a Certified Kansas Hunter Safety Instructor and served in the VFW Honor Guard.

On Nov. 24, 1961, he married Charlotte Hamm in Ulysses, Kansas.

Survivors include his daughters, Kate Wise, Wichita, Kansas, Kim (Joe) Klassen, Peoria, Arizona; brother, Ted Wright, Sedgwick, Kansas; granddaughters, Jessica (Micheal) Strickland, Liberal, and Katelyn (Kolby) Brinker, Topeka; grandson, Brice (Jenn) Klassen, Chandler, Arizona; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte Wright; brothers, Johnny Wright and Richard Wright; and granddaughter, Sarah Hansen.

A graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 1, at Halstead Cemetery, Halstead, Kansas.

Memorials may be given to American Legion Post 231 or Sacred Heart Catholic Church in care of Kaufman Funeral Home.
