Edward M. Dirks, 80, died Thursday, July 31, 2025, at Moundridge Manor, Moundridge.
He was born on Sept. 8, 1944, at Halstead to Menno and Ruby (Smith) Dirks.
He was a lifetime Halstead-area resident and was a retired farmer and stockman.
He was a member of Grace Mennonite Church, Halstead.
On Oct. 18, 1964, he married Sherrill Ann ?Jerri? Koehn at Almena, Wisconsin. She survives at home in Moundridge.
Other survivors include his son, Vance (Marcile) Dirks, Sedgwick; daughters, Debra (Wally) Becker and Gina Dirks, all of Halstead; sister, Ivalee Becker, Halstead; six grandchildren; and
11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Willis Dirks, and a sister, Ruth Smith.
The viewing was from 2 to 4 p.m. Monday, Aug. 4, at Kaufman Funeral Home, Halstead; visitation followed from 6 to 8 p.m. at Countryside Christian School, Halstead.
Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 5, at Gardenview Mennonite Church, Halstead, with Ministers Raleigh Kohn and Stanton Smith presiding.
Interment followed at Halstead Cemetery, Halstead.
Memorials may be given to Moundridge Manor in care of Kaufman Funeral Home, Halstead.
