Obituary

Janet Hodgson McMannis, 67, died Saturday (Nov. 5, 2005).

She was born Nov. 24, 1937, to Hal and Anna (Schrader) Hodgson in Hutchinson. They preceded her in death.

She was raised on a farm west of Hutchinson homesteaded by her great-grandfather Hodgson in 1871. She graduated from Nickerson High School and from the Hutchinson Hospital School of Nursing. She was a registered nurse in Menomonie, Wis., Minneapolis, Minn., and Hesston before retiring in 1998.

Survivors include: a sister, Becky Mladnick of Forest Lake, Minn.; children, Darren McMannis and wife LuAnn of North Newton, Rhonda Rose and husband Michael of Newton; and three grandchildren, Austin, Hayden and Owen.

She also was preceded in death by a sister, Jo Ann Johnson.

Private family service will be conducted. Interment will be in the Hodgson Family plot in Eastside Cemetery, Hutchinson.

Heritage Funeral Home in Hutchinson is in charge of arrangements.
